Crazies Hill & Cockpole Green battled gamely to secure a draw at Stonor on Sunday. Having won the toss and decided to bowl first, Crazies exploited the difficult batting conditions well, with both Boden and Jagger causing the openers some early problems. Ben Denton was unable to avoid a lifter and was well caught by Stuart at silly mid off. Boden then had John Powell caught behind by one that left him, leaving Stonor 19-2 after 10 overs.

Boden continued to cause the batsmen problems and was unlucky not to remove opener Tim Treadaway, who was dropped a couple of times. With Searle consistently finding a nagging length and Boden completing an excellent spell of 10-8-5-1, Stonor found scoring hard. When Searle trapped Jeremy Denton leg before for a gritty 24, Stonor had only reached 50-3 after 28 overs.

The introduction of Gilbey saw two quick wickets fall as firstly Emmerson stumped Neil Brown (4) and then run out Dan Fennell (1) following an excellent piece of fielding from Cash, leaving Stonor 65-5 and in danger of not batting through to tea.

However, the lack of the killer instinct in their bowling, coupled with some positive batting
from Jez Mayo (50 not out) allowed Stonor, despite losing Treadaway (35) to another run
out, to accelerate the scoring and reach 150-6 of 45 overs.

Crazies innings got off to a bad start as Montgomery was well caught by Powell without
scoring in the opening over.Crazies found scoring equally as difficult as Stonor in the
face of some accurate bowling from Brown and Powell.Things had only marginally
improved when Emmerson skied an attempted sweep off Brown and was caught by
Mayo, leaving them 18-2 off 10 overs.
Boden joined Stuart at the crease and they began to restore some solidity to the batting. However, Brown got one to leave Stuart, inducing an edge which was well taken by keeper Allsop.Once again the innings needed rebuilding and Gilbey provided the anchor as Boden began to strike the ball with greater fluidity.Having taken the score to 55, Gilbey tried to follow Bodenís lead, only to be stumped by Allsop off Fennell. Boden (27) then spooned a cover drive straight to Powell off Paul Hodkinson in the next over and Crazies were in deep trouble at 55-5.

They then crumbled further (68-7) as Scholfield tried to take on Bodenís mantle but lofted a simple catch off Hodkinson and Searle became Allsopís second stumping of the day off Fennell. Needing to score at over 8 and over, Cash decided that he should take the battle to the bowlers and hit three successive fours off Ben Dentonís next over.

But when Lea lofted a simple return catch to give Fennell his third wicket of the day, Cash (19 not out) and Jagger, who managed to curb his natural aggressive style Ė despite hitting Fennell over long on for one huge six - managed to hold out gamely for a draw, finishing on
92-8.
