Stonor CC faced their longest away trip somewhat shorthanded, but the 9 men emerged with a comfortable win. Invited to bat on a wicket looking very green compared to the grey skies overhead, Stonorís debutant opener Gerhard Kruger made a rapid start, before being third man out having reached a creditable 40 and giving Stonor a solid platform of 77 for 3 after the first 20 overs. After a cautious start, and a needless run out, Stonorís skipper for the day John Powell started to open out taking 14 off one over from Benbow, on his way to top scoring with 57; together with Jez Mayo Ďs well worked 40 not out and some weighty blows from Tom Marshall (taking him to his best score of 35), Stonor reached 208 off their allotted 40 overs.
Ashridge Coopers reply began well with some unorthodox battingfrom Harris but wickets were falling at regular intervals at the other end with Stonorís opening pair of Ashley Agar and Marshall ably supported by intelligent seam bowling from Tim Treadaway and the guile of left arm spinners Kruger and Ross Denton. Despite some late blows from Knight, Stonor were never under any pressure and ended up victorious by 103 runs.
